Lottie Gurvis is an actor, improviser and writer currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a BFA in Dramatic Arts and a minor in Creative Technologies from The New School of Drama (NYC). She is passionate about storytelling and finding common threads amongst uncommon people. When she’s not acting, Lottie can be found cooking a mean risotto, checking out a thrift shop, or rocking someone else’s baby to sleep. Lottie hopes to work with you soon!
TRAINING
Lottie participated in The Barrow Group’s 6 Week Professional Acting Summer Program. She trained with Seth Barrish and Lee Brock. Lottie worked on monologues, scenework, on screen acting and audition prep. She was given the opportunity to have a mock audition with a casting agent.
Lottie completed the four levels of The Upright Citizens Brigade training program from 2014-2016. She also took one Advanced Study Class. She trained with instructors like Chelsea Clarke, Kevin Hines and others. UCB helped Lottie brush up on her improv techniques and introduced her to some wonderful improvisors with whom she created the team “LL Cool J”. They went on to perform in comedy clubs and bars.
Lottie transferred from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada to The New School for Drama in the fall of 2015. Over the course of her training at TNS, she has taken classes in many different mediums including acting, playwriting, directing, teaching artistry, creative technologies, and many more. TNS provided Lottie with a deep understanding of different acting techniques while allowing her to explore other mediums and understand the many pieces that go into the production of a play or film.
Lottie has continued her education and networking at One on One NYC with instructors including Lisa Donadio (CD with Playwrights Horizons) and David Caparelliotis (CD with Caparelliotis casting).
